Hi! My name is Brad, in April. 2007, my wife and I had our first child, Sofia. I want to spend as much time as I can with our first child, and I've always wanted to be a stay-at-home-dad. My wife gave me a challenge: I can stay home with our baby if I pay off our mortgage. For the next several months/years, that is my goal.

I plan to trade my way up to paying off that mortgage, selling off items that I have gained through trades...and that is where you come in. I have several items listed for trade on the items page of this site. I'm accepting trade offers only. If you see something you like, let me know what you have, and hopefully we can work out a trade. After we agree to a trade I will try meet you to exchange the goods (or services!) I live in Worthington, Ohio.

Thanks to One Red Paperclip for the idea.

Part-Time Stay-at-Home-Dad

Over 1 year has passed since I began this project.

For the past few months you may have noticed I've been relatively absent from trading. As fall rolled around and school started, my wife went back to work, and I started staying home during the day with Sofia, our daughter. However, since the house isn't paid off I am still needed to work part time in my free time at my old job, and any other ways we can make ends meet. So trading had been put on the back burner for a while, at least until I got into a routine. But now I'm going to start putting more effort into trading again and see how it works with our schedules. I want to keep trading until the house is paid off or we run out of savings!

1 Year Numbers:
Since I started, October 5, 2007:
  • 53 trades (averaging 1.01 trade per week!)
  • Nearly 29,000 visitors to the site
  • More than 48,000 page views
  • 3,860 legitimate emails
  • 659 Craigslist postings
  • at least 91 emails from Craigslist scammers
  • About 4.8% of my way to paying off my mortgage
    • Only 20.8 years until I pay it off through trading at this rate!
