Amanda was home sick from work with laryngitis today, she’s got it pretty bad. But not bad enough that we couldn’t go out for some errand running for an hour or so. After we were done, I was a hungry and we were right by the Jack In The Box on way out West Colfax. We noticed the parking lots of Home Depot and Kohl’s what are right there were cordoned off and there were large numbers of emergency vehicles in the Kohl’s parking lot. Included was the bomb squad trucks.
This was sort of alarming, especially to Amanda. I had a feeling there was nothing to worry about, there is hardly ever a bomb when the bomb squad is on the scene. I don’t know if they ever really do anything helpful. But you never know what might happen. So we ate fast, the chicken sandwich with bacon was good and they make a mighty fine milkshake, and got out of there.
I tried to listen on a scanner app on my phone but I couldn’t find anyone talking about what was happening. Then a couple hours later I found out from 9News, via Facebook, that it really was nothing. It was an empty briefcase that had been sitting in the parking lot. ”They” were going to blow it up but before they could do that someone X-rayed it and found it contained nothing. I bet they still wanted to blow it up though.
There was something sort of strange and unexplained from the linked article, it said:
Police say a similar incident happened a few days ago when an employee brought the suitcase inside. It was full of clothes, however.
So, I don’t really know what that means, maybe they’ll explain further on the news, there were several stations with cameras there. Anyways, that’s what happened today. Did anything fun and/or exciting happen to you? Tell everyone about it in the comments below! See you later!
