Today we went down to Colorado Springs and visited the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. What a cool place that was! It’s built right on the side of a mountain. Crazy! We made a day of it and saw just about all the animals we could see. Here’s some pictures from when we were there.
One thing that’s fun at this zoo is they let you feed some of the animals, mostly giraffes. They have a “concession stand” where you can buy one of several different food items (depending on what time of day it is) to feed them. Giraffes have really long tongues and stringy saliva. And they love lettuce.
This was one of my favorite pics from the day. Gorillas pose well for photos, they are the vainest of all the primate. Ha, just kidding, I don’t know that that’s true.
Oh look, a kitty!
Eliza did a great job today, she was up and out of the house early and didn’t get home till fairly late. She hardly fussed or cried at all, but this one time she did and I captured it on digi-film.
So I took hundreds of photos while we were there, if you want to see any more of them on this blog please indicate in the comments this is the case. Otherwise I’ll leave you with these 6 zoo photos and you can go to the zoo yourself. Ok, see ya’ll later!
