You may have noticed on your calendar that this coming Sunday is Mother’s Day, so I have decided to make some chocolate covered strawberries for Amanda. But don’t tell her or anyone, it’s super secret. Haha.
The picture to the left there shows how to make it. Do you want me to tell you? Ok then, I will. It’s fairly easy to do. You start out by melting some chocolate over a double boiler. I used a metal bowl atop a pan with water and the stove on mediumish heat. Just make sure to stir it so it melts real good.
You can use pretty much any chocolate you want, I used King Soopers brand chocolate chips. They have a nice choco flavor but if you wanted to use fancy chocolate it would probably be even better.
Once it melts you dunk the strawberry into it, letting the excess drip off. Place them on a foil or parchment paper lined plate or tray and put in the fridge to cool. Wait a short while then eat them!
And that’s it. You can fancy them up by melting white chocolate the same way and drizzling it over the brown chocolate. Or you can roll the just dipped berries into something like mini-chocochips or what about crushed up Oreo cookies. Oreo-Chocolate Strawberries? I don’t know, maybe. What else could you embed into the chocolate? Any ideas reader?
Here’s a couple more pics of the finished product.
So there’s how I made Chocolate covered strawberries for my wife for her first Mother’s Day, I heart you Amanda.
