A Flower From The Butterfly Pavillion

A flower at the Butterfly Pavillion in Denver (Westminster) Colorado also Brad and Eliza are in the background blurred

We went to the Butterfly Pavilion, in Westminster, today as part of our last two weekends to use our 5 x 5 card cultural activity extravaganza. None of us had ever been there before so we didn’t know what to expect. It was smaller than we thought it would be, but they sure packed in a lot of stuff into what they have. The highlite is the butterfly room, as you might expect. There are thousands of butterflies just flying around living a great butterfly life in a tropical atmosphere. You can’t swing a dead cat without hitting several butterflies in there. You probably can’t swing a dead cat there in general come to think of it.

They don’t just have butterflies there either, nope, they have all sorts of bugs. One really cool thing they have is a beehive that is inside this clear plastic case so you can see how it is a hive of activity in there. Then there’s a tube so the bees can go outside and pollinate and work and do what they do. It is really cool.

They also have quite a few tarantula spiders. The workers there would like you to believe that the spiders are not deadly or anything but I don’t believe it. One lady was playing with one of them and we could have let it crawl over our hands but I didn’t want to because I have a little case of arachnophobia. I don’t know why Amanda didn’t do it, she just loves spiders!

So we all had a really great time. Eliza is getting to the age where she can appreciate things like this, or at least appreciate them a lot more than when she was younger. It certainly is a lot more fun when she can participate in and indicate her enjoyment at things. She loved seeing the butterflies flying all around us. She did what they call, “squealing with delight.” It was awesome.

Well then. Thanks for reading and I hope you go on over to my Facebook page and LIKE it if you haven’t already. Also, feel free to comment below or even email me your questions about whatever you want. I would like to get a little bit more interaction going on round these parts. I know from my stats that there are some people who read this sometimes, but you can’t tell it by reading the comments or my email inbox. That is mostly my fault but I’m trying to change Ringo. I want this to be a two way communication street. It’s more fun that way. So help me out wouldn’t you?! Ok bye!
