We’re going to check out the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta 2012, which happens to be in Albuquerque, as luck would have it. It is going to be pretty cool to see all them balloons up in the air at one time. I guess there’ll be over 600 of them there, making it the largest ballooning event in the world.
They say it’s the most photographed event on Earth as well. I know I’ll get quite a few pics while we’re there. They let you walk out among them and stuff so I can get up close and get some nice views.
We’re going to be just in and out of it, not much sleep for us. We’ll get into town via minivan mid-day and attend the evening’s festivities, then get some sleep and be right back out in the morning for the mass ascension. Then we’ll be on the road back to Denver. I think I’ll probably use a lot of Rockstar Energy Drinks and coffee along the way. But no 5 Hour Energy, unless they want to be the official energy supplier of Stay At Home Brad and family’s trip to the New Mexico Hot Air Balloon Festival.
