What Do They Do When The Numbers Run Out?

image

Here in Colorado license plates are formatted like this,  ABC-123. They started out with AAA and went alphabetically and are now into the Z’s. My question to whoever might know is what happens after they get to ZZZ-999?

Do they start back at the beginning using now unused numbers? Do they start a new numbering system altogether? I just gotta know.

I have no idea!! Montana does it by county…each county has its own prefix. Gallatin County is 6 and then -####. yours probably means the world is going to end. thats my best educated guess. :)
